Multitron II Incubator Shaker

The Multitron II Incubator Shaker is a large capacity shaking incubator which may be stacked up to 3 high, offering a large capacity in a minimum of floor space. The ingenious design of the Infors shakers features a front-loading pullout platform, stainless steel interior panels, panoramic front window and inspection light. The patented drive system provides uniform motion and quiet operation without vibration. The sealed cabinet ensures fast and accurate heating. Refrigeration, humidity and CO2 control are available, as well as a variety of lighting options.

Multitron

The new Multitron II incubators each incorporate a fully independent control and power system. Each deck is fully redundant in terms of control of speed, temperature, lights, humidification, CO 2 and RS232 output. This new feature allows existing cabinets to be easily upgraded to a stacked system that saves valuable floor space. A single cabinet can be bench mounted or supplied with a fixed base support that allows for future expansion. All Multitron II Stacked systems come with the base support and stacking system.
Each unit has a control panel with a splash proof keypad and LED display. The comfortable working height on each unit allows easy access to set points, on/off control and program cycles (day / night simulations). The display alternates between the current values of temperature and speed while the unit is operating.   Microprocessor technology and PID control guarantee precise regulation and accuracy at set values.
The fully insulated incubation chamber reduces heat transfer into and out of the cabinet. This, coupled with the use of efficient high velocity blowers ensures accurate temperature control and minimal temperature variations over the surface of the platform.
Cooling can be fitted on any unit in a single or stacked system. Top mounted chilled water, side mounted direct refrigeration or rear mounted thermoelectric (Peltier) cooling can be specified depending on space limitations, ambient temperature and end temperature requirements.
Growth lighting, CO2, and humidity, as options, can be installed in any cabinet location. Growth lighting requires the addition of top or side cooling for stable temperature control.
The Multitron II can have a 3mm, 25mm, or 50mm diameter orbit (or throw) to optimize the oxygen transfer rate for different sized flasks or microtiter plates. Speed control ranges between 20 and 400 rpm (50-1000 rpm for 3mm Multitron II Micro). Cabinet location (top, middle, or bottom), throw, and the volume of flasks determine maximum speed.
A work light is provided in the cabinet. Activated by pressing any key on the front panel, this allows you to see the contents of the shaker through the panoramic front window without opening the door

The machine will pause when the door is opened and will resume operation when the door is closed (or following a power failure). When the door is opened during operation, it is prevented from opening fully. A brake is applied to the shaker drive and the circulation fans are switched off . Once the table has stopped moving, the door can be fully opened and the platform is released for removal.
All input measurement signals (i.e.. temperature and speed) are isolated and can be logged or used for external control via a RS232 serial link to a computer. Alarm modes are also available for external monitoring.
The interior cabinet base is formed to be a water tight tray for complete containment of spills, and comes equipped with a drain fitting for easy collection of liquids. The drive motor is located outside of and above the environmental cabinet for reliability and safety.
